Accent

I was told by my college lecturer to work on my accent if I wanted to make it to university. She made mention that I won’t gain entry if did not work in my accent. At that instance I did not say anything because I was very naïve although it didn’t sit right with me. I discussed this with one of the seniors who brought to light how negative the comment is. I filed a complaint however nothing was done. The woman always marked my work down from that moment. Luckily I made it to uni without faking an accent.
