My experience was offline. I had a conversation with two white women at work, and that was when I realized that I was seen as the odd one out. The comments were sarcastic, however, they communicated a message. It took me a while to decipher the communication made. From what was being said, I understood that I may need makeup all the time to look “naturally beautiful “. Also, my hair in its natural state especially it’s elasticity, and tight coils does not meet the standards of “great hair “. These and many other comments were made but in a sarcastic way. I realized what was being communicated and walked away from a” dehumanizing “ conversation.
